Q:

Are there any hacks out there that can help make exercising more manageable, such as using apps or smartphone tools?

Hi everyone,

I have always struggled with keeping up with my exercise routine. I have tried different workout plans, but I always end up losing motivation and quitting after a few days. Recently, I have been hearing about hacks or tools that can help make exercising more manageable, such as using apps or smartphone tools.

I was wondering if any of you have tried any of these hacks and if they have worked for you? Are there any apps or tools that you would recommend for someone like me who struggles to stay motivated to exercise? I would love to hear your suggestions and experiences.

Thank you in advance!

Hello there,

I completely agree that sometimes exercising can get quite challenging, and finding motivation can feel impossible. One tool that has helped me stay motivated throughout my fitness journey is using a step tracker app on my phone. I was amazed at how much I underestimated the number of steps I was taking in a day before using a step tracker. After getting an idea of how active or inactive my lifestyle was, I made small changes to increase the number of steps I took daily.

Another tool is using YouTube videos to work out. I find that they offer a wide variety of workouts to try that cater to various fitness levels. Also, the fact that the videos are free and accessible at any time makes it super convenient. There are different workout types available, ranging from yoga to cardio to full-body workouts, making it easy to switch things up regularly.

Also, an excellent way to stay motivated is finding a workout buddy to exercise with. It not only makes the workout more enjoyable, but you have someone to keep you accountable, and you can motivate each other during the work out.

Lastly, I would advise planning my workouts early in the day, preferably in the morning. This approach helps me avoid procrastination and get the workout out of the way, reducing the chances of me backing out of it.

I hope this helps! Good luck in your journey to a healthier lifestyle.

Hello everyone,

I have tried several apps to help me with my workout routine, but the one that has really kept me motivated is the Nike Training Club app. It offers a variety of workouts, including cardio, strength, and yoga, catering to different skill levels. It also has personalized training programs you can follow, and the workouts range from 15 to 60 minutes, depending on your availability.

Another way I make exercising more manageable is by breaking up my workouts throughout the day. For example, I may do a 10-minute workout in the morning before work, another 10-minute one during my lunch break, and a longer one in the evening after work. This approach helps me avoid feeling overwhelmed and also allows me to fit in exercising around my schedule.

In addition to apps and breaking up my workouts, I also try to incorporate HIIT workouts into my routine. High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) combines bursts of high-intensity exercise with periods of rest or low-intensity exercises. I find this method to be more effective and efficient than traditional workouts because it burns more calories than steady-state cardio and improves cardiovascular health.

Lastly, I've learned that consistency is key. Making exercise a part of my routine makes it much easier to stick to it. Even if it's just for a few minutes, as long as I am consistent, I can see progress and feel motivated to continue.

I hope these tips are helpful to you, and good luck with your fitness journey!

Hi there!

I totally understand where you're coming from. I used to struggle with staying motivated to exercise too, but I've found that using apps and tools on my smartphone has made a huge difference for me.

One app that I really love is called Aaptiv. It's basically an audio-based fitness app that offers guided workouts with certified personal trainers. They have a variety of workouts and programs to choose from, so you can find something that suits your interests and fitness level. What's great about it is that you don't have to worry about what to do next, the trainer tells you exactly what to do and motivates you throughout the workout.

Another app I've found helpful is MyFitnessPal. It's a calorie and macro tracking app that helps me stay on top of my nutrition goals. You can log your meals and track your progress, and it also has a huge database of food items so you can easily log what you're eating. It's a great tool to use in conjunction with your exercise routine.

Lastly, I've found that setting small, achievable goals for myself has helped me stay motivated. For example, I'll commit to doing a 10-minute workout every day for a week. Once I achieve that goal, I'll set a new one that's a little more challenging. It's a great way to build momentum and work towards bigger goals.

I hope this helps! Good luck on your fitness journey.

Hi there,

I can definitely relate to the struggle of staying motivated to exercise. One hack that has worked for me is finding enjoyable outdoor activities that get me moving. For instance, I love hiking, biking, and walking my dog. I find these activities to be more entertaining than just running on a treadmill or doing a workout video. Plus, it's a great way to get some fresh air and connect with nature while still getting exercise.

Another tip that has helped me is finding a fitness community. Whether it's through a group fitness class, boot camp, or an online fitness community, it's a great way to stay accountable and motivated. I love having people to share my fitness journey with, and it's also a great source of support and encouragement.

Lastly, I've found that investing in high-quality workout clothes and gear helps me feel more motivated to exercise. Having comfortable, well-fitting workout gear that I enjoy wearing makes me look forward to my workouts. I also find that investing in good-quality equipment, like a good pair of running shoes or a yoga mat, makes a huge difference in my overall fitness experience.

I hope these tips help you, and good luck on your fitness journey!
