Hello everyone,
I have recently started my fitness journey and I am looking for some advice on how to track my progress without having to weigh myself every day or take body measurements every week. I find these methods to be quite daunting and time-consuming, and I am looking for something more manageable that will still give me an idea of how I am progressing.
For context, I am trying to tone up and lose some body fat. I have been working out regularly and eating a balanced diet but I feel like I need to be able to track my progress to see if I am making any real progress. I am hoping to find a method that is easy to implement and won't require me to spend a lot of time or money.
Do any of you know of any alternative methods that I can use to track my fitness progress effectively? Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hello,
I completely understand how you feel about the conventional ways of tracking progress. I, too, struggled with weighing myself every day and found it to be discouraging at times.
What worked for me was measuring my daily performance in the gym. Instead of focusing on the long-term outcomes, I measured how I was performing on a particular day. I used a stopwatch to measure the time I spent on the treadmill, the number of reps I was completing, and the weights I lifted.
Another thing that helped was keeping a journal. I would jot down my thoughts, emotions, and achievements during my workout sessions. This made it easier to track my progress and see how far I had come.
Ultimately, it's important to find a method that works for you and helps you stay motivated. Don't be afraid to experiment and try different things until you find the right fit.
I hope this helps, and best of luck on your fitness journey!
