Hi everyone,
I've been on a weight loss journey for the past few months and have made some great progress. However, I'm starting to think beyond just losing weight and want to develop a sustainable workout routine that I can continue even after I reach my goal weight.
In the past, I've tried getting into fitness multiple times, but I always end up losing motivation and falling off the wagon after a few weeks. I want to make sure this time is different, so I'm looking for tips and advice on how to create a workout routine that I can stick to long-term.
Specifically, I'm interested in learning about different types of exercises and activities that I can incorporate into my routine, as well as strategies for staying motivated and avoiding burnout. I also want to make sure that I'm not putting too much pressure on myself and that I'm setting realistic goals and expectations.
Any advice or personal experiences you can share would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hello there!
Creating a sustainable workout routine can indeed be quite challenging, but with proper planning, it can be achieved. Personally, I struggled with consistency initially and used to beat myself up every time I missed a session or failed to follow through my schedule. This led to burnout, frustration and subsequently quitting.
However, I learned that it was better to start slow and be consistent. Gradually, I started increasing the intensity of my exercises and added new routines. I found a fitness buddy who is also keen on maintaining an active lifestyle and we started working out together regularly. This helped me remain accountable since I did not want to keep letting my partner down.
One approach that worked for me was to create a workout plan alongside a healthy meal plan. I would take pictures of my meals and workouts, and each day that I completed my routine, I added a sticker on a chart. Seeing my progress on the chart kept me motivated and accountable, and eventually, I found it gratifying to complete each day's routine.
Finally, I turned off fitness comparisons on social media because they made me feel like I was constantly falling short and not doing enough. Instead, I focused on my progress and how far I had come. Celebrating small victories helped me stay motivated.
I hope this helps. Keep up the good work!
