Hi everyone,
I have been going to the gym consistently for about a month now and I'm worried that my workout routine may be too intense for my fitness level. I used to lead a sedentary lifestyle and have only recently started exercising regularly. I typically do a combination of cardio and strength training exercises, and I have been pushing myself to increase the intensity and duration of my workouts.
However, I have been feeling extremely fatigued and achy after my workouts lately. I have also noticed that my heart rate takes a long time to return to normal after my cardio sessions. These symptoms have made me concerned that maybe I'm pushing myself too hard and putting my health at risk.
I would appreciate any advice or feedback on how to tell if my workout routine is too intense for my fitness level. Are there any signs or symptoms to look for? Or should I consult a professional trainer or doctor to assess my fitness level and make recommendations on how to adjust my workout routine?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi there,
I think the key to determining whether your workout routine is too intense for your fitness level is to be honest with yourself about your goals and expectations. When I started working out, I had some lofty goals, and I wanted to see results quickly. I would work out for hours at a time, doing high-intensity cardio and strength training exercises every day of the week.
However, over time, I realized that this approach was not sustainable. I was constantly tired, my muscles were sore all the time, and I wasn't seeing the results I wanted. That's when I decided to take a step back and reassess my approach.
I started by setting more realistic goals for myself. Instead of working out for hours at a time, I would aim for shorter, more intense workouts that focused on specific muscle groups. I also incorporated more rest days into my routine, which allowed my body to recover more effectively between workouts.
Ultimately, I think the key to success with any workout routine is to find what works for you personally. It's okay to experiment with different workout styles and intensities until you find the routine that feels right for your body and your goals. And if at any point you feel like your routine is too intense, don't be afraid to make adjustments or seek advice from a professional trainer or doctor.
