Hi everyone,
I'm new to the fitness world and I'm looking for some advice on setting realistic fitness goals that I can stick to. I've tried getting in shape before, but I always end up quitting because my goals were either too ambitious or unrealistic for my lifestyle.
I'm a busy professional with a sedentary job and I struggle to find the time and motivation to exercise regularly. I also have a sweet tooth and struggle with controlling my diet.
I want to set some fitness goals that will challenge me, but won't be impossible to achieve. I'm looking for some tips on how to determine what's realistic for my fitness level and lifestyle.
Any advice on how to set fitness goals that I can stick to would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi there,
I understand how overwhelming it can be to set realistic fitness goals that you can stick to. One thing that has worked for me is focusing on the process rather than trying to reach a certain number on the scale. Rather than focusing on the end goal of losing 30 pounds, I focused on creating a routine and healthy habits. This mindset shift made a huge difference in my ability to stick to my routine.
Another tactic that has worked for me is tracking my progress. It's empowering to see how far I have come and motivates me to keep going. I keep a workout journal where I track the exercises I'm doing, how many reps, and how long I worked out. This not only helps me track my progress, but it also allows me to see where I need to improve.
Finally, I think it's essential to find exercises that you enjoy. There's nothing worse than forcing yourself to do a workout that you hate consistently. Experiment with different activities such as yoga, cardio, weight lifting, or dance. When you find something that you enjoy, you're more likely to continue doing it.
Remember that health and fitness are not one size fits all. Take your time to figure out what works for you and the lifestyle that you have. Don't compare yourself to others and focus on your journey at your own pace.
Hope this helps. Good luck on your fitness journey!
