Hi everyone,
I am new to weight loss and I have decided to start tracking my progress. I have heard that weighing yourself regularly can be helpful, but I am not sure how often I should be doing it. I don't want to weigh myself too often and get obsessed with the numbers, but I also don't want to miss any important changes.
For context, I am currently overweight and I am looking to lose about 30 pounds. I am following a healthy eating plan and I have started to exercise more regularly. I don't have any particular timeline for my weight loss, but I would like to see some progress fairly soon to keep me motivated.
So, how often do you think I should weigh myself? Is once a week enough or should I do it more frequently? Any tips or advice on tracking progress would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Hello everyone,
I have found weighing myself once every two weeks to be a more effective method for tracking my weight loss journey. This way, I am not too concerned with daily fluctuations in my weight and I still have enough progress to report by the time I get on the scale again.
I personally do not like to focus on the scale too much because it can be demotivating, especially if you're not seeing the progress you want to see. This method also allows the body to adjust to the new healthy routine and lifestyle changes that I have implemented. I have also found that I tend to be more consistent in my weight loss journey as I do not feel pressured to see changes every week.
Instead of focusing on the scale, I tend to focus on the other positive changes I am seeing in terms of energy levels, stamina, and overall health. These things are more important to me in the long run as they help me to maintain my weight and overall health.
In conclusion, finding a balance between tracking progress and not letting the numbers consume you is key. We all have different methods that work best for us, so it is essential to experiment and find out what works for you personally. All the best in your weight loss journey.
