Q:

I'm trying to lose weight, but I love to snack - any ideas for healthy and satisfying snacks?

Hello everyone,

I'm hoping to get some suggestions for healthy snacks that I can indulge in while still trying to shed those extra pounds. I have always had a sweet tooth and find myself snacking a lot throughout the day, which has been hindering my weight loss progress.

I have been following a strict diet plan and regular exercise routine, but I find it challenging to resist snacking on unhealthy items like chips, chocolate or sugary cereals. I'm looking for healthier alternatives that will help me satisfy my cravings without adding unnecessary calories to my diet.

I would appreciate any suggestions for healthy and satisfying snacks that are low in calories and rich in nutrients. I like fruits and vegetables but sometimes they don't hit the spot, so any creative ideas are welcome. Thank you in advance!

Hello there,

I completely understand your struggle of trying to find healthy and satisfying snacks while on a weight loss journey. I've been through this challenge myself and have found great success with my go-to snack - smoothies!

I love making a green smoothie with spinach, kale, frozen pineapple, and almond milk. It's refreshing, packed with nutrients, and keeps me full until my next meal. Plus, since it's blended, I don't feel like I'm mindlessly snacking on something that's not good for me.

Another snack that I've recently been into is roasted seaweed snacks. They're light, crispy, and come in various flavours. Plus, with only around 30 calories per pack, they're weight loss-friendly and won't compromise your progress.

For the times when I'm craving something savoury, I like to reach for roasted almonds with a sprinkle of sea salt. They're high in protein and healthy fats, so they keep me full while satisfying my snack cravings.

Lastly, I enjoy snacking on hard-boiled eggs. They are easy to prepare, portable and a great source of protein. Sometimes, I'll even add a dash of hot sauce or a sprinkle of salt and pepper for extra flavour.

Hope these snack ideas help! Remember, consistency is key on your weight loss journey, so keep up the good work.

Hi there,

I struggled with the same issue when I was trying to lose weight, but I managed to find some great healthy snacks that helped me control my cravings. One of my favourites is plain Greek yogurt with fresh berries and a drizzle of honey. It satisfies my sweet tooth while providing a good dose of protein and antioxidants.

Another great snack that I love is air-popped popcorn with a sprinkle of nutritional yeast and spices like garlic powder, paprika or cumin. It's a low-calorie option that's also very satisfying and delicious.

If you're looking for something savoury, I would recommend roasted chickpeas or edamame. Both are high in protein and fibre and make great snacks to munch on while watching TV.

Finally, when I'm craving something crunchy, I reach for raw veggies like carrots or cucumbers with hummus or a homemade yogurt dip. It's a great way to get some extra veggies in my diet and the dip adds some flavour and creaminess.

I hope this helps! Good luck on your weight loss journey.

Hi there,

I can totally relate to the struggle of snacking while trying to lose weight. I've found that one of the best snacks for keeping me satisfied and on track with my weight loss goals is roasted vegetables. I particularly love roasted cauliflower and broccoli, which are both low in calories and high in fibre. I drizzle them with olive oil and sprinkle on some garlic powder and paprika before popping them in the oven. They come out crispy and delicious!

Another snack that I enjoy is apple slices with almond butter. It satisfies my sweet tooth while providing some protein and healthy fats. It's a great snack to have when I'm craving something sweet and don't want to give in to the temptation of unhealthy options.

When I want something salty, I love snacking on homemade kale chips. They are easy to make and a nutrient-dense snack that's perfect for satisfying crunchy cravings. I sprinkle them with some sea salt and nutritional yeast for added flavour.

Finally, I like to have a protein shake as a snack to keep me full between meals. I make it using unsweetened almond milk, frozen fruit, and a scoop of protein powder. It's a quick and easy snack that keeps me on track with my weight loss goals.

Hope these ideas help and good luck on your weight loss journey!

Hey there,

I can definitely relate to your struggle of trying to lose weight while battling snack cravings. When I was in a similar situation, I discovered that fruit smoothie bowls were a satisfying and filling snack that didn't compromise my weight loss goals. I like to use frozen bananas and mixed berries with almond milk and almond butter as the base for my smoothie bowl. Then I would top it with granola, sliced bananas or berries and shredded coconut. It's like having a dessert without sabotaging my progress.

Another snack option that has been helpful for me is homemade kale chips. They are easy to make and a perfect replacement for potato chips. I drizzle olive oil and sprinkle salt and pepper on raw kale leaves before baking in the oven for about 15 minutes. They come out crispy and flavourful, and I can eat a whole bowl without feeling guilty about it.

Lastly, I would like to recommend roasted sweet potato slices. They are a nutritious and filling snack that satisfies your craving for something sweet, but they won't affect your weight loss progress because they are low in calories and high in fibre. Drizzle coconut oil on the sweet potato slices and bake them in the oven for 20 minutes, then sprinkle some cinnamon on them for added flavour.

Hope you found these snack ideas helpful! Keep pushing and the results will show in no time.
