Hello everyone,
I've recently gotten really into exercising and it's become a big part of my daily routine. I typically go to the gym for an hour in the morning, followed by a jog in the afternoon, and some light yoga before bed. However, I'm starting to worry that I might be overdoing it. Is it possible to exercise too much? And if so, how can I tell if I'm overdoing it? I don't want to risk injury or burnout, but at the same time, I don't want to slack off and lose all the progress I've made. Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

As someone who has over-exercised in the past, I can definitely say that it is possible to exercise too much. I used to push myself to my absolute limit every day, constantly striving for more and more progress. However, after a few months of this, I started to notice that my body was breaking down. I was constantly fatigued, my muscles were always sore, and I even started experiencing heart palpitations.
It was a wake-up call for me, and I realized that I needed to dial back my exercise routine. After consulting with a personal trainer and doing some research, I learned that rest and recovery are just as important as the actual workout. I gradually scaled back my workouts and started incorporating more rest days into my routine.
Now, I feel much better both physically and mentally. I think the key is to listen to your body and be aware of any warning signs that you might be overdoing it. If you're feeling constantly fatigued, or if you're experiencing pain or discomfort during or after your workouts, it might be time to scale back. Remember, progress takes time and there's no rush to get to your ultimate fitness goals. Keep the long-term in mind and take care of yourself along the way.
