Would it be helpful to set smaller goals on a weekly basis as opposed to larger goals over a longer period of time?

Hey guys, I have been struggling with achieving my goals lately and I am looking for some advice. I have noticed that whenever I set long-term goals, I tend to lose focus and motivation after a while. I am thinking of trying out setting smaller goals on a weekly basis instead. Do you think this approach would be more helpful in achieving my goals? Has anyone tried it before? Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
